Wine Labels - Our brief was as simple as the resulting design. Create a label that frames the artwork, and does not obscure it. Allow Sandro Chia's art on the label speak for the art within the bottle.This was a very worthy experiment in simplicity, proportions, information hierarchy, and the practice of diversity within a grid system. Our exploration led us from grids based on Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, to the Fibonacci sequence; from age-old architectural grids to modern grid philosophies like those of Joseph Müller-Brockman. Though the project sits archived and unused, I still refer to the knowledge gained in its development.
